How Hoodia Gordonii Works
Hoodia Gordonii is a succulent plant that grows in the Kalahari Desert in South Africa. It is renowned amongst the Bushmen of the Kalahari for its ability to curb appetite, quench thirst, and increase endurance on long hunting treks and when food is scarce. Hoodia has taken the weight loss market by storm as a natural, safe appetite suppressant.The active ingredient in Hoodia Gordonii is a molecule known as P57. This molecule copies the effect that glucose has on your brain, telling your brain that you feel full.
The hypothalamus is the part of the human brain that controls your appetite. The hypothalamus contains nerve cells that sense glucose sugar.
When you eat, glucose levels in your body rise. As your blood glucose levels increase, the hypothalamus sends a signal out to get you to slow down and stop eating.
